Lydd House Playgroup - Charity No: 1033875

Lydd House Playgroup was formed in 1985 and is a committee run group under the guidance of Surestart and PLA, with charity status. The Group is held in Lydd House Centre, which is two ex-police houses knocked into one. There is a large secure outside area including a new Fun/Sensory Garden, climbing frame, large train, carriage and station, and a swing area.

Lydd House Playgroup is regularly inspected by Ofsted, the last one being February 2005. The group caters for children aged 2 yrs to 5 years, providing age and ability related curriculum, and is registered for 23 children per session. The fees are at present £7.50 per session and are members of Kent County Council voucher scheme. Opening times are 9.30 am – 1.00pm, term times only.

Mrs. Janet Banks is the Supervisor of the group and holds NVQ3 in Child Care and Education, Ms Debbie Shade is the Deputy Supervisor, who also holds NVQ3 in Child Care & Education, and there are 5 members of staff, 3 of whom have NVQ2 in Child Care & Education.
